Content & its' Importance

If you haven't read anything here, this you defintely need to. Not only can this save you money but makes your Website more interesting. That would be: Content. Content is the information you provide me about your Company. This can be how you go about choosing the fabric for a Client, how that fabrics' created, where its from, etc. It can be how your Company does a thorough job of going through the used cars' repair history and what car repairs you do before re-offering the car for sale....any information you feel should be relayed to the customer that is pertinent, relevant and informative.

The importance of this is two-fold. First you have shown the customer you really know your stuff. Secondly, the more information you provide on your WebSite, the less (if any) money you will need to spend getting it listed with the major search engines.

To help you understand this, think about the last time you "keyworded" something you wanted to look up on the Web. When the search came up, what did you do? You most likely began reading through the titles found, and clicked on a few right there on the first page. Within the first 3 or 4 pages, you most likely found all of the information you needed, and the other 1 million or so pages after page 4 ? You never saw them!

Whats that got to do with Content on my webpage you ask? Everything! Those first pages that came up in your search either paid money to be listed at the front of a search, or the WebSite was loaded with good, solid information.

Search Engines work by sending out what are called "searchbots" or "crawlers". These are tiny programs that silently scour the internet tirelessly, "reading" through all the WebSites and pages in Cyberspace. The more wording and information they find, the higher up in ranking your pages receive when someone keywords in a search-term relevant to your products! So the more info that can be found on your WebSite, the ranking should be closer to the front pages of a search.

This is not always true, as different search engines use different techniques, but for the most part it is a good process and one that works quite efficently. Keywords can change from week to week, so the ranking can change with it. Updating your Pages with the WebMaster can keep your pages more in tune with the changes made in keywording and help keep your rankings higher.

Other alternatives include paying as little as 50.00 bucks (for the smaller, less known search engines) and well over 1000 dollars to gain this ranking. And that fee expires, (usually annually) and then you have to pay all over again.
